Mental health board seeks director; no timeline set

The executive director of South Central Alabama Mental Health Board is advertising for a new executive director, but has no timeline for hiring.

Sabrina Boddy, director of human resources, said Tommy Wright has served as interim executive director since Diane Baugher left in October to become the state's associate commissioner for mental health and substance abuse.

The mental health center serves clients in Butler, Crenshaw, Coffee and Covington counties. The 501c3 organization provides an array of services to mentally ill, substance abuse, and developmentally disabled individuals, serving approximately 4,500 persons annually. Services include rehabilitative day programs, intensive day programs, supportive housing, case management, small capacity group home, children's and adult in-home services, juvenile court liaison, probate court, outpatient therapy, hospital evaluations, geriatric services, psychiatric services, crisis intervention, testing, med monitoring and information and referral.

SCAMH also is advertising for an outpatient therapist, substance abuse professional, cook, mental health workers, mental health techs, and a developmental disabilities program aide.
