BRIEF: PTSD presentations planned Wednesday at IPFW

Sept. 07--The public, and especially military veterans and their families and friends, are invited to two free presentations on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Wednesday in Room 114 at Walb Student Union at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), 2101 Coliseum Blvd. E.

Dr. Jessica Hackenberg, a clinical psychologist with the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, will speak from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on "PTSD and the VA System" and from 2 to 2:45 p.m. on "PTSD Treatment Modalities and New Advances."

The presentations are part of the "Knowledge is Power" education event Wednesday, which opens at 10 a.m. in the Alumni Plaza next to Walb Union. The event includes interactive suicide prevention education and resource tables. Free lunch is provided for the first 200 attendees.

The event is presented by IPFW Military Student Services and VA Suicide Prevention Specialists and is part of Suicide Prevention Week activities Tuesday through Friday at IPFW.
