BRIEF: Mental health groups to host picnic

Aug. 19--Three local organizations are teaming up to host a picnic and family event at Maytag Park.

The Carnival in the Park will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Aug. 27 at the park's west picnic shelter. The free event is designed to promote family unification and positive mental health.

The carnival, hosted by Integrated Treatment Services, Optimae Life Services and NAMI of Jasper County, will feature hamburgers, hot dogs, games and at least one bounce house free of charge. Adults are encouraged to bring children, but must accompany them throughout the event.
