Search continues for woman who left mental health hospital with armed man

Patriot-News - 8/11/2016

Aug. 11--Police are continuing to search for a woman who was removed from a mental health facility in Lebanon County and the man with a gun who removed her.

Cornwall Borough police said Alicia Buzzard, 21, was removed from the Philhaven Hospital after Elliot N. Ravert, 18, arrived at the mental health facility in West Cornwall Township with a gun at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Ravert, of Narvon, Lancaster County, demanded to know where Buzzard was located and threatened to shoot two nurses.

"Ravert demanded to know why Buzzard was in lockdown," according to police. "(The nurse) advised him that she could not comment, at which point he pulled put a black handgun and told both nurses he was not afraid to shoot them."

Police said Ravert and Buzzard left in a green 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche truck with Pennsylvania license plate ZGY-3594. On Wednesday afternoon police provided an update, saying they received information that Ravert might have changed the license plate on his truck.

On Thursday, police said Ravert may now have a Texas license plate on his vehicle.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts can call Cornwall police at 717-274-2071 or 911.

It was not known whether Buzzard left with Ravert voluntarily, police said.

Ravert is wanted on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, and making terroristic threats.
