Police searching for woman who left mental health hospital with armed man

Patriot-News - 8/10/2016

Aug. 10--Police in Cornwall are searching for a missing woman who left a Lebanon County mental health hospital with an armed man Tuesday evening, according to state police.

Authorities are searching for Alicia Buzzard, 21, no address given, who was last seen at Philhaven Hospital, a mental health facility in West Cornwall Township at 6:30 p.m., police said.

Buzzard is with Elliot Ravert, 18, of Blossom Drive in Narvon, Lancaster County, police said.

"Ravert entered Philhaven Hospital armed with a handgun and removed Buzzard. It is unknown if Buzzard willingly accompanied Ravert," according to a news release from the state police.

Ravert's Facebook page, where has posted several photos of him with Buzzard, says he is in a "complicated relationship."

"After speaking with a nurse, Ravert demanded access to a locked unit where Buzzard was housed, displayed a handgun and threatened to shoot two nurses if they did not unlock the unit," according to borough police.

Buzzard is described as five feet four inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with brown shoulder length hair.

Ravert is driving a green in color 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche truck with Pennsylvania registration ZGY-3594, police said.

"Police believe Buzzard may be at special risk of harm or injury. Anyone with information regarding the location of Buzzard or Ravert should contact police immediately by calling 911," according to the news release.

Police said no staff members were harmed.

One of Buzzard's sisters, 22-year-old Tiffany Buzzard of North Carolina, told lancasteronline that Alicia lives in Myerstown with their mother and stepfather. She is bipolar, has schizophrenic and has various medical issues, Tiffany Buzzard said.

The family was pleased that Alicia "had a great boyfriend who cared about her," but her parents separated her from Ravert when the relationship turned intimate, she said. When they learned Ravert had been visiting Alicia at PhilHaven, they asked the facility that he not be allowed to see her.
