Patten joins Woodland Centers staff

Litchfield Independent Review (MN) - 7/19/2016

Julie Patten has joined the staff at Woodland Centers in Litchfield.

Working with families, adults, adolescents, and children, Patten helps people with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and attachment issues. She also works with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and behavioral and emotional disorders.

Patten particularly encourages families to make an appointment if they have any concerns about their children.

"The stress of day-to-day living affects people of all ages," she said. "Children as young as three can receive counseling. I encourage people to come in and learn what's possible for themselves and their children."

After earning her master's degree in applied behavioral analysis from St. Cloud State University in 2002, Patten worked in counseling in residential treatment in Cambridge. She received her doctorate in psychology from St. Thomas in 2014 and has worked as a psychotherapist in Elk River for the past two years.
