Mental Health First Aid Training

Carriage Towne News (Kingston, NH) - 11/5/2015

DERRY -If you encountered someone in emotional crisis-a co-worker, family member, neighbor or someone in the community- would you know what to do to help? Center for Life Management (CLM) in Derry is offering a Mental Health First Aid training to help improve mental health literacy and help participants to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness.

Mental Health First Aid teaches a five-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of mental illness or in a crisis and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social or self-help care. Anyone can take the eight-hour Mental Health First Aid course- human resource professionals, business owners, first responders, teachers, students, leaders in faith communities and any caring citizen.

The course will be co-facilitated by Celia Felsenberg, LICSW, CLM Director of Clinical Services and Peter Reinertsen, LCMHC, CLM Director of Emergency Services, both certified Mental Health First Aid trainers. CLM will be offering the Mental Health First Aid course on Fri., November 20, from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at 10 Tsienneto Road in Derry. The cost for the eight-hour certification program is $65.00, which includes lunch, CEUs and training materials.
