Supervisors to hear update on mental health region

Sept. 15--The Central Iowa Community Services Region -- which handles mental health services for its member counties, including Jasper County -- has been operational since July 1, and Jody Eaton will be providing an update on the transition.
Eaton's update will occur during Tuesday's Jasper County Board of Supervisors meeting. Eaton serves as Jasper County Community Services Director/Central Point Coordinator, has several roles on the CICSR board and, along with Supervisors Chairman Joe Brock, serves as the county's main contact within the region.
The agenda doesn't specify what her update will entail; her last few updates were to announce CICSR's new CEO, ask the board to consider outsourcing mental health transportation services and to announce pending changes to the 28E agreement with the region.
Other members of the region include, Boone, Franklin, Hamilton, Hardin, Madison, Marshall, Poweshiek, Story and Warren counties.
In other business:
-- Russ Stutt, county engineer, will request a transfer order to be approved and that the county transfer the liability insurance claim from a motor grader.
-- The Jasper County Recorder's Office will seek approval for its August report. According to the report, it collected $17,300.09 for the month.
-- There will be two citizens request, one by the Newton Senior High School Athletics Booster Club to hold a taco feed on the courthouse lawn, and a fireworks permit for a birthday party.
-- Dennis Simon, county human resources director, will present a resolution on hiring a part-time jailer, Molly Illingworth, beginning on Sept. 18 at a rate of $17.23 an hour.
-- A vote to approve a transfer order that would move close to $1.3 million from a local sales services tax fund to various county accounts.
