BRIEF: Jacksonville police investigate foster-care baby death; child had health and addiction issues

March 19--The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a baby Wednesday morning in a home in the Wynnfield Lakes Subdivision off Kernan Boulevard.

The death appears to have been from natural causes, and the child was in foster care at the time in the home in the 12400 block of Sunchase Drive, homicide Sgt. Dan Janson said. The baby did have health and drug-addiction issues, Janson said. The state Department of Children and Families will also be investigating the death.
